475 – Not Quite Sun Tzu

Sun Tzu's famous military treatise The Art of War is full of tidy little thoughts such as:

"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near."

Thus it can be construed that when you have a plan, it's best that you appear there is no plan, and vice-versa. Not that Rosa's ever read The Art of War, but hey, if it's all about deception then at least she's a good liar.

  1. I love it when a plan comes together. 😀

  2. She’s not wrong.

  3. Not ideal in game theory, but with so many moving parts, sometimes randomness elevates those who are simply lucky … or skilled, quick, ruthless and lucky, as in her case.
